    Hi,

Before I try this plugin I have a question :

If I add say, 20 sidebar and then add say, 5 widgets to each, what impact will it have in terms of ‘resources’ on a shared server as opposed to a dedicated server?

Has this plugin been tested in such environments and if so, what were the outcomes?

The number of sidebars, sidebar conditions, and widgets will not affect performance negatively. I have focused a lot on scalability and growth rates of the functions in this plugin, especially when dealing with advanced conditions.

The plugin’s memory usage shouldn’t be a problem either. By default WordPress saves all widgets in memory (unfortunately I have not found a way to change that), so whether you add 100 sidebars in your theme’s code, or use this plugin to add 100 sidebars, the memory usage will be the same when populating them with widgets.

I’ve previously tested the plugin on a site with 10.000s of posts, pages, categories and tags, and 100s of sidebars with no noticable impact on page load.

Please let me know if you have other questions about this.
