• After a recent update, the Responsive 2010 theme I have been using so far has crashed with the following error message:

Warning: require(/var/www/baltap.dk/public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/responsivetwentyten-v1.0.3/block-patterns.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/baltap.dk/public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php on line 743

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/var/www/baltap.dk/public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/responsivetwentyten-v1.0.3/block-patterns.php' (include_path='.') in /var/www/baltap.dk/public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php on line 743

All access to the administration panel has so far been blocked. Is there any way for me to access the administration panel? Can I just do a manual installation of the theme using ftp access or is a total installation of a new theme in order?

    Regards

Is the twentyten theme still installed? It looks like parts of it may be missing.

Via FTP or the file manager app in your hosting control panel, delete wp-content/themes/twentyten. Then, go to https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/twentyten and download a fresh copy. Unzip it locally and upload the resulting twentyten directory to wp-content/themes on your server.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I tried to do a clean install of the Twentyten theme, but did not succeed in removing the error message. I suspect that the error might be due to the Responsive Twentyten child theme being incompatible with the latest version of the Twentyten theme.

    Thanks for helping

I think you’re correct. You’re using a commercial theme, so please use their official support channel. We feel they are best equipped to support their products.

    Problem fixed.

After some tinkering, I copied the block-patterns.php file from the Twentyten theme into the Responsive Twentyten child folder. This seems to have fixed the problem. Baltap.dk is thus online again. Switching to a more modern theme might be in order tnough.

    Regards.
