Responsive Image Gallery question
-
This is an incredible plugin — truly a must-have! Thank you for creating it. I’ve been using it for over 12 years, both for myself and for my clients, and I’ve never had a single problem with it. It’s an absolutely fantastic plugin!
However,
for all these 12 years, there’s one thing that has always bothered me — the “Responsive Image Gallery” setting, and the fact that the only adjustable option there is the thumbnail width. Here’s an example: I want to display photos three in a row and make the thumbnails as large as possible. Finding the perfect thumbnail width is always a struggle — if the thumbnail is just 2 pixels too wide, the third one jumps to the next line. Depending on the visitor’s device, this layout often breaks, and my idea is completely lost.
Why isn’t there an option to set the number of columns instead? For example: on large screens, I’d like 3 columns; on smaller screens, 2 columns, and so on. That way, it would be very easy to configure 2, 3, 4, or more columns per device size, making the gallery truly responsive. This is honestly the only reason one might even consider switching to another plugin.
Or — is there perhaps a way to achieve this using custom CSS?
Thank you again!
