I’m testing a site I’m using Swifty Bar on for responsiveness. I’m using Viewport Resizer, which is a Chrome extension, but it usually works accurately. I saw in another thread that you say on mobiles, you made social sharing buttons the focus. I’m seeing these disappear on 1280 x 800. On other larger resolutions, sometimes I’m just seeing the category. Are you working on better media query styling?

    Hey immanence,

it all depends on title. If title is big, on smaller screens right side cant fit, so i am looking for solutions to limit title chars and add … .Then responsive would look identical on all monitors. I am also looking for a way to add whole bar on responsive, maybe some icon when clicked would show author and title besides soc shares.

    I will keep u updated.

Thanks. To be honest, I think the title and by (author) are redundant. People should know what page they’re on. I will experiment with hiding these on all pages. Category, time to read, sharing and the next and previous stories are pretty much all I need.

I think the best thing is to play with the existing media queries to hide certain elements if the page goes below certain breakpoints. Title. Time to read. Quick experimentation shows this could work in my case. You have it set to hide the category, and I’m looking to show this but not other parts of .sb_post-data. Seems to be working okay …

Yes, issue comes from the size of the title that depends of its length, if title is small everything will fit but if its lengthy then it wont, but this can be resolved with limiting char length.

And instead of not show the title, why don’t you offer the option to excert the title to X characters long?

Because when I use long titles social sharing buttons dissapears, and so in these cases the entire idea of this bar seems useles…
Other idea could be to show the title of the following (or previous) post, instead of the current one.

Besides it, I’d like to see the following features in the bar:

    – choose a custom color
    – choose a custom social network
    – choose what social network shows

    Thank you.
