Hi,
thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.
Making tables responsive is very tricky, as they have a fixed column structure.
There are however several approaches, and the one that the Responsive Tables Extension does is to flip the table to the side and then make it scrollable horizontally.
This however only really makes sense on small screens, so that you might want to use the parameter phone or tablet instead of all. That way, only those small devices will have the flipped table, whereas regular visitors on a computer will see the original table.
Regards,
Tobias
Hey Tobias,
Thank you for all of the effort into making this plugin and the extensions. I just noticed for the responsive extension that the option for ‘Horizontal Scrolling’ must be unchecked for this to work properly (otherwise the table data is displayed below vertical header column as opposed to the right of it).
You may want to update your documentation to reflect this.
Thanks again!
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
yes, nice catch! The Responsive Tables Extension indeed does not work properly if the “Horizontal Scrolling” checkbox is checked.
I should really add that to the Extension’s web page. Thanks!
Best wishes,
Tobias
P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
That was useful info blindpiggy. I can work with that now. Thanks guys.
Hi,
no problem, you are very welcome! 🙂 Good to hear that this helped!
Best wishes,
Tobias
