Responsive Theme front page

I installed Responsive but the front page just looks like a regular blog page. I read the various threads and set the Reading to “your latest posts” and every other thing I could try including deleting and reinstalling the Responsive theme but no luck. How to I get the home page to show the three widgets at the botton and action button, etc.??
