Responsive Theme Header
-
Is there some somple code to make the header span the entire page?
Either css or editing the other code which ever is easier.

Hi curbside,
Since you didn’t mention what theme you are using, that’s a difficult question to answer. The width of the container (what’s keeping your header from stretching the full width of the browser window or view port) is controlled by your theme’s CSS. Some themes might be fairly easy to change, while others may not.
If you can provide a link to your site, or a demo of the theme, I might be able to give you more details.
Thanks!
Christi
Thanks Chrsti, I forgot to mention the theme. It is responsive.
I found some css code to get it in the center. I just need it to span the entire top.
I have never tried to edet the php code or whatever it is.
Hi curbside,
Thanks for the link. I see you are using the Twenty Ten theme which, to my knowledge, isn’t responsive. It also has a fixed with container. Unless you are quite comfortable with editing HTML and CSS, and responsive design, I recommend th at you look for a theme that already has a full width header.
If you do want to try your hand at making your header full width, this should be helpful:
Twenty Ten Theme … Would like the header “full width”
If you want to try out some other themes that should have a full width header “right out of the box” try these:
Themes tagged full-width template
Hope this helps!

I switched to Twenty Ten because I aleady know how to do it. I would like to have something that is responsive and I haven’t get up on it. The twenty ten header is full width as it is.
Fortunately everything I have in twenty ten tranfers to Responsive easy enough. The Responsive Theme itsself is a little quirky anyway. I am going to look at the themes you suggest and hopefully one won’t need any modification at all.
Hi curbside,
I hope one of those suggestions works for you.
Good luck with the new theme!

What I am looking for is a responsive them thay look just like twenty ten or is very similar. With that them I can make the page look the way I want it to. If you see one plese let me know. For now I a going to stick with twenty ten because having the page look right is more important to me the responsive feature.
Thanks
Curbside Jimmy
Hi Jimmy,
Since TwentyTen is a fairly clean and simple design, you should be able to find one similar enough to fit your needs. But, since what you are looking for is of course subjective, you are going to be your own best resource. This of course means you will need to invest a little research time, but you are the best judge of what you are looking for as far as the design and layout of your site.
I will leave you with some suggestions, all responsive, that will hopefully help:
Twenty Eleven
Twenty Twelve
CustomizrYou’re welcome!
