I would be very grateful if someone could get back to me on this issue as it is affecting the people who own the site.

Hi John,
Apologies for the delay.
To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the restoration log?
You can find this log in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of your site via FTP.
You can send the log file as an attachment or copy the contents into an online tool (such as http://pastebin.com/ )
Kind Regards,
Bryle

Hi
The site was not accessible at all, so I couldn’t get hold of the Updraft info – I had to go into the cpanel and restore a backup from a week ago, before I installed UpdraftPlus. The site is up again now, but without Updraft or any of my recent changes.
How can I make sure this problem does not occur again?
Hi,
From your description, it would be most likely that the restoration was timed out or killed off partway through.
I would recommend restoring the backups one section at a time, to give each the maximum amount of resources available.
When restoring this way, restore the database last.
