    Hi,

every time I restore a backup, all users using Safari get logged out automatically.
That hurts user experience quite a lot.

I really like this plugin but this discourages me from getting the pro version.

Does anybody had a similar problem?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

  • Hello dear @treelia ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Does this happen only to users using Safari? What about other browsers?

Also, could you send us the restore log of one of those restores which logged out all Safari users?

Here is how to get the file.

How to Download the Restore Log File

Please send it via wetransfer.com using the link retrieving option.

    Hi,

here’s the link to the restore log. It happens only to Safari users, not to Chrome or Firefox users.

Thank you for the file dear @treelia ,

The thing is that the restore action kind of clears the DB and then restores it again. This is why users get logged out.
So, it’s something that comes with the restore itself.
The strange thing here is that it happens just on Safari and not on other browsers – this is very strange since they should have been logged out too. But the log didn’t help much here to understand why only the restore on Safari works this way and not on other browsers.

    Hi,

thanks for your answer. I also tried this with Updraft Plus, results:

    – Safari: always gets logged out
    – Chrome: sometimes gets logged out (not every time)
    – Firefox: never gets logged out

I have been using your plugin for a year now but in the past, it has never logged out any users after a restore.
This problem has only occurred in the past few weeks.

    Dear @treelia ,

Thank you for the further tests.

There is one possible scenario we can imagine regarding this.
Maybe WP checks whether a person is logged in or no every X period of time, let’s say seconds. And if that check corresponds with the DB being cleared, then a user gets logged out.
So we imagine this is connected with the timing and not exactly with the browser.

I tested it with multiple devices and on multiple occasions, so I’m quite sure the problem is connected to the browser. Nevertheless, I deactivated the WPRocket plugin and users don’t get logged out after restoring anymore.
I’m not sure what happens here, but not using WPRocket isn’t an option for me. I will test different settings for that plugin and will let you know if I can figure it out.
