Restoring an excluded folder

    If I exclude a folder containing some heavy size files, when backing up, do the links to these files in the post get disabled?
    Also, if I manually copy the folder to the new installation server, will the complete restoration happen?

    Hi Srishtim,

    The links will not be disabled, however until you move the files that were excluded up-to the new location then your items will not show. For example if you excluded the wp-content\uploads directory with all your images, then after you install your site it will not have any images until you manually move them over.

    Thanks – will try. This may help for large sites, having large pdfs linked

    Yes, it is designed to help budget hosts with timeout limits for larger files…
