Restrict posts from appearing in widget

You can exclude posts with this filter in your (child) theme’s functions.php file:

Try it with this

add_filter( 'related_posts_by_taxonomy_widget_args', ' rpbt_exclude_related_posts', 10, 2 );
function rpbt_exclude_related_posts( $args, $instance ) {
    // Exclude post ids 23 and 57
    $args['exclude_posts'] = array( 23, 57 );
    return $args;
}

btw:
consider creating a child theme instead of editing your theme directly – if you upgrade the theme all your modifications will be lost. Or create a plugin with the code above.
