Hi @jlevand,
Sorry if you’re experiencing this issue.
Are you using the [restrict]..[/restrict] shortcode without adding any parameters? Please make sure that you set the Restrict this Content meta box to everyone before adding the [restrict] shortcode.
Best regards,
Yes I am using just the [restrict][/restrict] shortcode. I am still having the issue even after switching to everyone.
Can you please give me an example of how you are using the shortcode, exactly?
For instance, I tested this on a site:
[restrict message="Y'all really should sign up to see this"]
Here's some stuff
[/restrict]
And it shows the message to non-logged in users, or non-members, but the inner content to folks who should have access.
I used the shortcode block to create this.
So I created a brand new page. Set “Member access options” to Everyone.
I put:
[restrict]Restricted Text [/restrict]
WHen I log in as a Test User with just Subscriber Role and hit the page, I see “This content is restricted to subscribers” I can give you access to check if you like. As I say, this was working with no issues for years..
Does that test user have a membership level in Restrict Content, or even just added as a customer?
The subscriber user role in WordPress won’t show content unless they are also assigned a membership level or added as customers in Restrict Content.
Hmm, I understand. I switched to the Legacy method and seems ok now..
Thanks
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved, but feel free to open a new thread if you have additional questions 🙂
