the errant quiz total is certainly because of the multiple quiz issue.

I have to ask, did you add the quiz shortcode to the page twice? We need to figure out why your site is double loading the quiz. Can you please provide a link to the page so I can take a look?

so I took a quick look and the issue is that the quiz is loading three times! Why this is happening I cannot say for sure, but HD Quiz just uses the standard WP Query – the exact same query used for, well, almost everything.

Because of this, IF the issue is not that you added the same quiz three times, the leading culprit would almost certainly be some other plugin on your site that screws with, or otherwise changes, how WordPress uses Queries.

My recommended steps would be as follows.

1. I see you are using elementor. Although there are no compatibilities issues with page builders, I need you to triple and quadruple check that elementor has not inserted the shortcode multiple times. I suggest even temporarily converting the page to the standard WP Editor, just so you can see what it is that elementor is actually doing and verify that the shortcode only appears once.
2. Once the above has been confirmed, we need to look at other plugins that could interfere. basically, Temporarily disable any plugin you think could affect queries and verify that the quiz works. Then re-enable each plugin one by one until we find the poorly coded one.

Depending on which plugin causes the issue, it may be something I can code a workaround for on our end, but it entirely depends on how the plugin works and what it is doing it interferes with the queries.

Please keep me posted on what you find; this is a real head scratcher!

Glad you got it sorted! Can you tell me which plugin it was? I’d love to know how they managed to break WP Queries haha. Maybe they are using the same shortcode prefix as HD Quiz? I’ll pour through their code and see if I can think of a way to insulate HD Quiz from any other/future weirdly coded plugins.
