#Resurrect "Thumbnail For Excerpts" WordPress Plugin

I recently stopped using Thumbnail for Excerpts, a wordpress plugin that was created several years ago and has since not been updated or maintained. It is the standard bearer for all excerpt plugins in my opinion and i ditched it a month ago for the premium version of Easy Auto Custom Excerpt, a plugin that I wasted US$7 on when Thumbnail for excerpts does everything the “E.U.C.E.” does and more.

In fact it has a negative and that’s the fact that when you apply the excerpt is makes embedded videos displace the content on all the pages which is very annoying. Thumbnail For Excerpt doesn’t do that and it’s free.

It hasn’t been updated in about four years and that’s sad. We need to resurrect this plugin and distribute it for free as the web was made to be free, wordpress is free and look at what it has done for content management systems. Thumbnail for Excerpts need to be updated with the same great features and options and more. Namely the ability to choose different pictures we want in the excerpt and just about anything else you want in a plugin like which side of the excerpt you want the text and pictures to be or have video excerpts and a read more button. You know, same traditional greatness with anything you want to see out of a great plugin.

In fact just tonight I had to deactivate my current excerpt plugin and re-use thumbnail for Excerpts. It’s old but it’s good but it would be great if someone could contact the owner or creator and ask that person to update it or permission to create a plugin like it that’s free so all wordpress users can use it. Trust me, it’s as great as I say it is.
