    is it possible to change the post_type to job_categories?
    I am trying to query which subcategories are in a specific category

    or even

    trying to query which subcategories are in each specific category
    as in a pagelong-shortcode

    Display Posts allows you to query for posts of any post type, but it doesn’t query for taxonomy terms. I’m guessing job_categories is a taxonomy, not a post type, in which case this plugin will not be able to help you query for the taxonomy terms.
