Returns not showing when creating a Post

Hello,

I could use some help (yes, again!). I have searched the forums but haven’t found anything concrete to help me. I use the wordpress free blog and when I create a post, either using the visual or text mode, my returns / breaks will not show up in my actual post. I have tried simply hitting enter and I have tried
neither work and since I am on the free site I can’t use the plugins suggested. Can someone tell me what I need to do? I need to be able to put breaks in my posts. Thanks!
