That’s an unusual request. I guess most Broadcast use cases are. 🙂
If I cook up an add-on that adds a “pull” bulk post action, that is run from the post overview page, would that help any?
Or a checkbox in the broadcast meta box in the editor that says “rebroadcast from parent”, together with “this is a broadcasted child page”?
Hey, thanks for the swift reply!
I guess broadcast is such a powerful plugin that people get creative 😉
So, your return question made me realize that I probably haven’t fully thought it through since the subsite editor would have to have a way to see and then “earmark” posts on the main site that he wants to pull to the subsite…
So, if I could put this in a wild wish list, then I guess something along those lines would be great:
1. on main site, mark posts as “pull-able” by sub sites
2. on subsite, provide a list of “pull-able” posts from main site (or network sites)
3. give subsite editor an option to pull (simple click?)
4. after pull request, posts is a regular broadcast child, handle as usual from there on
I have put this together on the fly, so there may be caveats and issues. Happy to discuss further if I can be of assistance!
I’ll have to have a think about this, to see how to make the solution as painless as possible.
o.k., sure!
Let me know if I can be of any assistance
I’ve created an add-on that is ready for testing!
1. The parent post marks the post as “pullable”.
2. A checkbox in the child’s Broadcast meta box appears.
3. If checked, the parent is broadcasted to the child.
I’ll include it in the next version of the control and premium packs. If you wish to test the add-on, e-mail me! [email protected]
Hi Edward,
that’s cool, just sent you a mail for testing.
I wonder, though, how does the child appear on the child site if the main bog hasn’t broadcasted it, yet? I guess I’ll see in the test…
