Reverse permission structure?

Hi Vladimir,

I reached out to WooCommerce concerning an issue I noticed on one of their plugins called Sensei. This plugin allows users with the role “teacher” to create courses and lessons.

There’s a custom taxonomy called “modules” that allows teachers to organize lessons for the course. I noticed that teachers were able to see module taxonomies created by other teachers, which shouldn’t happen.

By this time I had already downloaded and installed URE, so I went ahead and checked the capabilities for the teacher role and everything seemed fine. I then reached out to the WooCommerce support team and after several messages back and forth they asked me to reach out to you.

Their response:

In terms of the teachers issue, as Adam mentioned, User Role Editor can make changes to your permissions structure that may persist even if the plugin is disabled. As a result, just disabling the plugin likely will not fix the issue, even though User Role Editor caused it in the first place. I would get in touch with them here to see if there is a way to reverse these changes.

How would I go about “reversing the permission structure?” I’ve searched this forum for awhile and couldn’t find anything.

As a side note, I’ve disabled all plugins beside URE and used the “Reset User Roles” to see if that would fix it and it didn’t.
