I’ve tried to use custom sidebars, but it didn’t work for me as the custom right hand column I added overlapped the revolution slider at the top of the page. I deactivated the plugin, but I’m left with a column space on the right-hand side of every page. How do I remove this ‘ghost’ right hand column and get back to full width?

  • Hello curtisbollington,

Custom Sidebars doesn’t add on its own any sidebars. It replaces existing sidebars – if your theme hadn’t any sidebar then you had to change template of the page to add one. And probably change css styles to position column. In this case you have to revert changes you made in theme code.
Another scenario is that you edited that page and changed template from full width to template with sidebar – in this case you have to again edit page and change template for page.

Without seeing your theme or site I can’t say more on how to revert those changes.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

Hi Kasia, thanks for your reply. The site is skautolocksmith.co.uk, the theme is called VIP Restaurant. I’ve checked the site and it’s set up for full width, without a sidebar. I’ve also checked individual pages, and they are also set up for the default template, with no sidebars. The change happened site-wide, even though I only originally added the sidebar to the ‘services’ page.
    Best regards,
    Curtis
