Robot.txt wordpress in a different root directory
-
Hi,
I’m writting because I’m having troubles with the robot.txt file and Google.
I have installed wordpress in a subdirectory of the server (to try keep tidy the server) but the site is running in the main domain. I mean, I have the index.php and the htaccess in the root but worpress installed in a subdirectory.
I have installed the plugin XML sitemap and generated the file here: http://escuelamelior.org/sitemap.xml
But I upload to Google web master tool and I get the next error: “the file robots.txt has blockled the URL”. Besides, if you type in google “escuela melior” you get the next error in the description of the site “There isn’t a description of this site due to the file robots.txt”
because I have doubt about where it is generated the robot.txt. I moved the file from the subdirectory to the root the file.
Just in case I edited the robot.txt and I pasted the next content: http://escuelamelior.org/robots.txt
So, What do you think it is the problem Google don’t get the info of the robot.txt?
And, How I should manage to xml sitemap generate the map in the root and not in the subdirectory? or I have to move it every time?
Thanks in advance,
iván
