Role Removal Before Assignment

I’ve been troubleshooting an issue where roles are being removed/re-applied when a subscription renewal happens. This normally wouldn’t cause an issue, but the past couple of months the re-assignment of the roles has been unreliable and sometimes the member has their role removed even though they have a valid membership that should grant them a role. Looking at the logs, I see that the successful ones have their roles remove and then added back, which seems unnecessary. On the failed ones, the roles are simply removed and none are added back.
