Is this compatible with plugins that I’ve enabled auto-updates for? Like if those auto-updates fail, will it automatically roll it back to the previously installed version?

This would be incredibly helpful because I noticed a few versions of Wordfence and Yoast would automatically update, but then the next time I logged into my site, it said the plugin was deactivated due to missing files (something in the automatic update failed).

I would like to ensure my sites remain protected and functioning until I can manually get around to sorting out the failures because if those fail while I sleep (I set the automatic updates to be at off-hours so scheduled maintenance times don’t occur during peak traffic), who knows how long it’ll be until I get around to fixing them.

Honestly, that’s the whole reason why the auto-updates is kind of putting me off. I simply can’t trust it to always work. This would be an amazing failsafe for that.

    Tessa,

Almost all this code is currently in 5.9, this plugin is just for testing as a feature plugin.

Your issue is the type of problem we are looking to solve.

There are some differences in the plugin vs what’s in trunk and the plugin should automatically deactivate if you’re on 5.9.

Yes, it should all work fine with automatic updates.

If you have any issues please let me know.
