Row Layout: show less options
-
Is there a way to get Kadence to show less options (eg for the Row Layout block: no padding, no individual margins, no colors…), or to preset options so a client can’t mess things up?
Thanks!

Hey,
Interesting suggestion, What does “preset options so a client can’t mess things up?” mean to you? How would that work?I’m thinking about a very specific project I’ve been working on, where Kadence’s Row Layout Block offers almost exactly what I need: the ability to simply and visually select between a single block row, a 66/33 or 33/66 row and a 33/33/33 row.
However, Kadence also offers a lot of options we’ll never ever need for this project, like all the other row layouts, background colors, margins/padding per row/column – these are the ones I’d really love to be able to deactivate or hide.
Then there are the options that always will be set exactly the same, like gutter width/right-margin, and top-/bottom-margin. For these an option to set a fixed value, for example on a “Kadence > Row Layout Options” page, would be awesome.
While having these options is perfectly fine generally, very much in keeping with what Gutenberg is all about, and while Kadence does it really nicely, I can think of many situations where one wouldn’t want these options to be visible/changeable, at least not for non-admin users.
I’ll look around in Gutenberg docs and GitHub to see if there is talk of a filter for specific user roles that would allow something like this. I’m not aware of one but could be a good solution.
Having these options would actually make me buy your plugin in a heartbeat. (BTW: what are you planning for the advanced image block? 🙂
My plan is to add shape options so the image can be a circle, square, diamond along with drop shadow options. For image overlay style things we have the image overlay block: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium-10/image-overlay-block/
Have suggestions? requests?
Nope, I was just being curious.
