RSS feeds are raw data, not really meant to be styled. Usually an RSS reader will style the data.
I get the same message after the last Google Chrome update. It is styled OK in Firefox. Chrome seems to have lost track of the stylesheet.
Thank you for checking!
Could you tell me where/how to add this text link: http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A//www.lesliebrown.org/feed/
Thanks again.
I usually put links like that in a text widget at the bottom of the sidebar but you can also add it to the footer.php file and adjust position with css.
Thank you again. I see RSS (Entries, Comments) on the left side of the page, but when I click them it displays the XML file. Does it work for you? Pasting the link in a text widget just displayed the code.
I really appreciate your help.
If you want to put the RSS validated button on the site follow the directions the above link gives you.
Thank you again. I see RSS (Entries, Comments) on the left side of the page, but when I click them it displays the XML file.
That only happens in Chrome as it does not come with a reader. You can add one as an extension, chrome-extension://pnjaodmkngahhkoihejjehlcdlnohgmp/options/options.html?page=main&run=highlightSyncSettings&
All of the other browsers come with a reader.
Yes, I’m using Chrome, but I don’t know how to add the extension. Didn’t mean to take up so much of your time. Sorry, which link above?
Okay, I added the feed reader and it’s on my Chrome toolbar. I added my blog URL. I hope others can click it now to see the RSS feed. Is that it?
Looks good to me! Nice blog.
The chrome extension will only help you read RSS feeds in your Chrome browser. Others who try to read it in Chrome will just see the XML code unless they have an RSS feed reader extension in their browser. Other browsers have RSS feed readers so if they are using Firefox, Safari, etc., they will be able to read it with no problem.
I don’t know why Chrome no longer provides an RSS feed reader. Not very user friendly of them.
Thanks very much for the compliment about my blog. Nice to hear.
I checked the RSS feed in Firefox and IE and clicking it works fine. Just don’t want visitors clicking the RSS feed in Chrome and seeing XML code. I guess that’s the last question. Anything to do about that?
Thank you to both of you!
Chrome users are used to it if they try rss. Google wants people to use the Google reader and that is why they don’t have a reader in Chrome.
Okay, I think I’ve tried everything you’ve suggested. Guess I’ll have to live with the XML problem.
Thanks again!
