    Good day,

I have set the RSS Feed to order by Start Date, All Ascending. Unfortunately these settings are not being pushed to the feed which is showing All Descending.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    UPDATE:

I am testing the RSS feed here – https://kougachronicle.co.za/events/

I have tried numerous RSS feed plugins and settled on Spectra as it provides the best layout.

ALL plugins I’ve tried have the same output result – the feed shows Descending and not Ascending.

My Events Manger RSS setting are set to: 1) Events this month 2) Order by Start Date 3) All Ascending

Based on the setting above, my expectation is that the above feed would show a list of events from today into the future.

Hello, where are you seeing your RSS feed? I’m checking https://kougachronicle.co.za/events/feed/ and that’s not working for me.

I see you’re using EM, yet with an interesting mix of other plugins, is that correct? It might be that one is interfering with the other… have you tried viewing the feed with other plugins disabled, such as whilst you use WP Safe Mode enabled (our plugin, you can enable it just for you).

Please make sure you’re viewing the RSS feed specifically on your browser, not via a service, because it may re-order it automatically based on dates. We can’t control that.

Hey @msykes, thank you for your response.

I am pulling the feed https://9ty9.co.za/events/feed/ into https://kougachronicle.co.za/events/

I managed to get around the events order using the feedzy plugin and adding sort=”date_asc” to the shortcode.

I will dig further as to why the feed order is not being honoured. Thank you

Further to my response above, I tested the feed on a site with no plugins active and the default WordPress theme and am seeing the same issue – the feed order is incorrect https://awethu.org/website_bf11ac2e/events-feed/.

OK, now I see. However, the feed itself on https://9ty9.co.za/ looks correct to me? You’re saying you want it ordered ascending, and the feed is showing your most upcoming event just like on the events page – https://9ty9.co.za/events/feed/

I’m unclear about what you are doing on the other sites, I’m assuming you’re using some sort of plugin to pull in the feed and display it on that site, correct? The feed is correctly ordered, so it’s likely whatever you’re using on the destination to parse your events.

Note, we have an I/O (import/export) plugin in our pro version that does exactly this, but parses the iCal or even a csv which is more reliable, and handles ordering etc.

Thank you for the additional feedback.

The feedzy plugin allows one to force the order using a shortcode parameter, which is working force the correct order.
