The feeds we tested do not exhibit this issue. We tested podcast feeds from SoundCloud, LibSyn and PodBean. It may be that we need to add additional logic for parsing the date for your particular feed.
Can you reply with the feed URL you are importing?
I did some testing and believe I found the problem. When I get your podcast feed that your trying to import I’ll test with it to verify the fix works.
Thanks!
Hi Angelo, thanks. Here’s the feed URL: http://disasterpodcast.com/feed/podcast/
My latest changes work with that feed. Will push a new version of PowerPress 6.3.1 Friday.
Thanks!
Thanks, great to hear. Can I get clarification on one other thing: This feed is for a weekly podcast. Since I’ve got it linked up with your plugin via RSS import, will it automatically pull the feed to add new podcasts as posts as they become available?
I have the same issue and questions as tiptopolive. Will there be an update to fix these issues? Also, will the plugin automatically import when the feed is updated?
I didn’t see an update yet either. Is there an ETA on when that will be available?
tiptopolive, the import feed feature is to move your podcast from another location to your WordPress site. It is designed to run manually, as it will map or add categories, download your iTunes image and report error messages if any. It is not designed for or intended to be used as a mechanism to maintain a copy of a podcast on another web site. I would caution on such an endeavor as it may harm the SEO of the given podcast, as it would cause 2 copies of the same content to exist on 2 separate sites.
Blubrry.com enterprise services includes a turn-key podcast network platform, if that is what you are tring to accomplish. Our enterprise system can pull podcast feeds on a regular basis (once an hour if desired) and will scale to traffic needs. The system is very smart in that it will detect when iTunes image changed and update them, as well as only display the basic information so as to not harm the podcast’s SEO.
BuckAgency, I haven’t released PowerPress 6.3.1 yet. I’ve been swamped with family stuff over the holidays, sorry for the delay. I will plan on getting it released possibly Sunday the 3rd, otherwise Monday the 4th.
If you do not want to wait, you are more than welcome to download the development version, here’s a link: https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/powerpress.zip
Thanks for the reply Angelo. I’ll keep my eye out for the update
How does the development version work? Should I uninstall 6.3 and install this version? Will that cause any issues? Will this version of the plugin auto update?
Full disclosure, I have a client who needs this up and running so that is why I am asking.

Sorry for the double post there. Not sure what happened.

Make a backup of your current PowerPress installation and deactivate the plugin. Then, download the development version, unzip it, and install it over your current PowerPress installation (overwrite). The easiest way to do this would be thru FTP. PowerPress settings are stored outside of the PowerPress files, so doing this shouldn’t be an issue. Once the new version is in place, reactive the plugin. If you run into any serious problems, revert to the backup copy.
You no longer have to wait, just released PowerPress 6.3.1. When I herd the announcement for WP 4.4.1 was coming out today I held off releasing PowerPress until then.
