Hi @amanda789, thanks for getting in touch!
Due to that error message, I can see that your site is successfully communicating with Wordfence servers. Currently, we allow 2 rule update requests in a row, but then only 1 every 10 minutes from that point.
Try to leave the site some time to make a successful connection by not trying to update rules manually for a while. Let me know how you get on and if this message is suppressed.
Thanks,
Peter.
Hi Peter, thanks for your help. It’s been about 5 days and I’m still getting the message.
Hi @amanda789,
Sorry to hear that, make sure you have the latest updates to Wordfence and WordPress, then try deleting the rules.php file in wp-content/wflogs. Wordfence will automatically regenerate the file (usually within 30 minutes.)
Let me know how that goes for you. If that doesn’t work, can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
Note: For the fastest response time, please make sure and add any information or questions directly to this topic and not the email address above unless asked.
Thanks again,
Peter.
Hi @amanda789,
As we’ve not heard back for a while, we hope deleting rules helped you out. If you have any Wordfence queries in the future, by all means start a new topic and we’ll be glad to help out any time.
Thanks again,
Peter.
