Hello, thank you for your plugin! I think it is the most functional due to the up to the minute status update change when a place is opened or closed. I know that you are already working on implementing holidays, so I wanted to add a suggestion before you settled upon a system.

What plagues many business hour plugins is that holidays are defined by strict dates. Instead of following that path, may I suggest a rules based system for the holidays? For example, in the USA Thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November. It is not always the same day each year. Rules to repeat every day, week, month, and year would be needed, maybe exclusion dates to cancel out preset rules too.

Also, when a holiday is triggered maybe the Opening Hours Status widget can display the title given to the rule like “Happy Thanksgiving!” or “Closed for Thanksgiving Day.” instead of simply “We’re currently closed.” so that the person knows that the closing is not a normal occurrence but a special event.

    Thanks!

    Hi euronguyen,
I thought about this as well but I actually wanted to make it a “Individual Opening Hours” section. So you wouldn’t just have the opportunity to close your venue but also to set up individual hours for that day.
So instead of just saying “We’re closed on thanksgiving” you could as well say “On thanksgiving we’re open from 9am – 3pm”.
This would be a feature to come in the update after the holiday-update.

    Thanks for feedback
