Dan, if I would want some thumbs to make manually, for instance because the proportions of the image doesn’t match the others, how would I do that? Would I download and alter the already made thumbnail, modify it and upload again into the .thumbs directory? Would this cause problems with this plugin?
Thats exactly what you would do, and no, only if you “reupload” that exact picture, the thumbnail will be overwritten otherwise it wouldnt be a problem at all…
Philip, yeah you could just create the directories in the root at the backend, and create subfolder for those beneath… (for the root galleries to be shown, you need at least one picture in the directory, cause it uses the picture as a thumbnail for the “gallery”).

No it should do so by itself philip… Try creating a sub directory in the administration interface… And upload pictures to that directory…
Not sure I understand…I don’t have an option to create a sub directory in the WP admin interface.
Where you upload your pictures, there should be a box called “Create directory”… to create sub albums…
Dan: OK. I’m stupid. I have been uploading the images via ftp, which I just realized is wrong!! Ok. Uploaded images under Manage and what do you know, it worked!!! I didn’t see Gallery under Manage —

Philip batch import via ftp is possible too… then you just upload the files to /wordpress_root_dir/wp-content/ftp-gallery, and under manage -> gallery you will be introduced to the import feature at the top of the page… 🙂
