• PLEASE SEE MY UPDATED COMMENT UNDER 1 STAR. I WAS WRONG!! THE PLUGIN IS FINE!

This hideous program doesn’t work,[wrong!}doesn’t improve speed, and worst of all, I can’t load my media library in grid format. It only loads in list format. Also, when I upload new images, I get an error message every single time, yet it will show up in the media library list.[A wordpress error, NOT from this plugin]

I have to find my images now. I don’t know how this plugin gets such good reviews. I should have read the negative ones before I downloaded it. I downloaded the free version directly from wordpress. If it doesn’t function and hurts your site when it’s free, there’s no incentive to upgrade. [Well, now I WILL upgrade!]

I was WRONG and I will reverse my 1 star rating. I’m typing this here so it6 shows up with my first comments.I assumed that because others were having the same problem, that it had to be this plugin.

The author, Shane Bishop, responded immediately with help. He suggested that it could be a java script problem, so I did a couple of hours of research, and found the answer. He was right. I found tons of people that had the same problem, and it seems to be linked to the WordPress 4.6 update.

Lesson learned. Don’t jump to conclusions. Do more research before you turn assumption and coincidental timing into “fact.” All of my media problems were caused by something other than this plugin.

Thank you for your quick response, Shane, and for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for hanging in there, glad you figured it out!

I think I may have a similar issue – please can you point me at the solution you found?

@spinkles87, just delete the ewww-image-optimizer folder from your WP plugins folder, and reinstall with 3.0.2

It turned out to be a conflict with a plugin – ignitewoo – which I deleted and reinstalled (the same version which had been the latest). Then everything was fine. I just followed the common advice of going to my plugins, deactivating each one, the activating one at a time as I checked my media library display. Sure enough, it worked until I activated the culprit.

I have since been using EWWW with no problems whatsoever.
