S/MIME
-
I keep getting this error:
There is a problem with your S/MIME public certificate.Your S/MIME public certificate is what WordPress uses to encrypt emails it sends to you so that only you can read them. Unfortunately, something is wrong or missing in the public key saved in your profile.
I believe I have copied the key in correctly into the box “Admin Email S/MIME Public Certificate”. The public key was taken from my certificate manager in Thunderbird. There are 16 lines of alphanumeric numbers similar to this:
81 41 35 cb 5b 7c c3 15 b1 f7 5e 5c 5a ae ac 9d
I just pasted these 16 lines into the S/MIME box.
I have not added anything into the PGP boxes.
I note on the description page for the plugin it states “They can choose which encryption method to use.” It do not see any options to select which method I wish to use.
On the plugin’s “email Encryption” page it simply has three headings “Admin Email PGP Public Key”, “PGP Signing Keypair” and “Admin Email S/MIME Public Certificate”
and also some check boxed regarding delivery options and one option to delete private key material on uninstall. Not sure where I am going wrong…..
