• I’ve updated the theme I’m using and now I can’t get slide anything to work. When inserting the shortcode it just displays it as text. When using echo do_shortcode(‘[slide-anything id=”???”]’); it does nothing at all.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Please note that I’m trying to get the slider into the header so there’s no gap between the header and the content.

    Well when I view page source on the link you provided (right-click and then select ‘View page source’), it seems you are missing the essential JavaScript & CSS files for Slide Anything – this is what you should typically see in your page source:

    Are you running any optimisation plugins to ‘combine’ CSS/Javascript into a single file to improve page load times? Maybe that is an option within your theme (you can test this by switching to another theme and perform a quick test – and you can switch back after)?

    I’ll test today after work and get back to you ASAP.

    It seems that the css isn’t showing up in any of the themes I switch to.

    Try disabling all your plugins and test (you can re-enable them after the test).

    After getting the echo shortcode syntax correct it’s now displaying except for the right arrow. I’ve also deactivated the other plugins and had the same issue with the slider not displaying.

    I’ve put the slider back on the site so you can see what it’s doing.

    I had to remove the slider from the site as it was not rendering correctly at all. I’m using the built in slider from the theme but would prefer to use the carousel from SA. Any help would be appreciated.

    Morning – time zone difference as I’m based in South Africa.
    So to recap you said that you had got it working, because you were using the incorrect shortcode syntax previously, but you still had an issue with the right arrow not displaying?
    Could you perhaps put the slider on another ‘test page’ so I can have a look without impacting your home page?

    https://cheekygingerstudio.com/sa-slider-test-page/. Anywhere else it would be used would be in the body and the slider works as expected there. After doing some more testing the slider was not working as expected either. The images in the slider were all showing up in the header horizontally and not as a slider at all. When the slider is working by inserting the shortcode into a paragraph tag on a page, the slides are not the full horizontal length of the page either.

    Try adding the following CSS:

    .row .white {
    max-width:100% !important;
    }

    Still messed up after adding the css.

    It seems to be displaying properly on the test page but is still messed up on the front page when I add it there.
