Hello. Using Stageshow Gold, and have been for a number of years now, and it’s great. Howeve, never used the sales validation before.

For our next show we are doing tickets by e-mail, with QR code on them, and intend to scan tickets on entry to confirm, and hopefully log who turned up.

I’ve set up a test, and using the offline validator works, but when using the ‘online’ validator, it doesn’t seem to do anything. Entry of a made up reference tells me that it’s not a valid ticket, which is fine. But, entry of a valid reference doesn’t do anything, the page reloads, but no indication of what the ticket is. If i then enter a non-valid reference, I then don’t get the warning of a non-valid ticket.

What output should I be expecting from this page – is it doing what it is intending to do, and I’m not understanding what this should do, or is it not working as intended?

Sounds like it’s not working as expected ….

When you enter a valid reference (followed by Enter or a click of the button), the cursor should change to the “busy” cursor, and then a “Matching record found” message should appear along with the list of tickets with that reference. The focus returns to the input box for a new reference. Internally it uses Javascript to check the reference and then update just part of the page … the page as a whole should not be reloaded/refreshed.

An example of a successful validation is one of the screenshots and you can see it here.

If the page really is reloading then it could be caused by a Javascript error (which might not be part of StageShow) which is preventing the StageShow code from running correctly. As a starting point I suggest that you make a new backup of your WP database, and then Disable (but NOT Delete) all other plugins and retest.
