Same Email Posted Repeatedly

When I use wp-mail.php, the same email message gets posted over and over, endlessly. I saw where one user solved the problem by updating the Google sitemap plugin. I deactivated mine, but it didn’t help. It’s like the email is not getting deleted from the server, so the rest of the emails never get posted.
