Sample user can’t login

I’m using Ultimate Member and set up a sample user to be manually approved. I went through all the steps and approved the sample user and the dashboard showed as approved (0 pending review). An email was also sent to the sample user account stating “Your account is now active”. However, when I try to login as the sample user, I receive an error message “Your account has to be confirmed by an administrator before you can login”
Any assistance is greatly appreciated as I don’t know what else to do.
