Save overrides words in input fields

I try to use the following permalink structure in Request (and in Destination fields):
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
After save it becomes
/%year%/%monthnum%/y%/%postname%/
It simply doesn’t like the word /%day%/.
Eliminating the percentage signs like /day/ – it works fine.
Any idea?
