Saved my website

There was a serious problem: I could not log into WP at all and the database was inaccessible. Got a technician to look at it and he at least managed to get the site accessible to the general public. However, the menus were completely amok (all over the page) and the tag cloud was messed up, AND one week of updates, posts and pages were missing, and I still could not login to WP.

I downloaded the latest backup before the crash and uploaded the database sql file overwriting the existing (week old) file, but it did not help. Luckily I got a tip from someone :-D. I went into phpMyAdmin and uploaded/imported the latest database sql file (after first zipping it). And presto! The site looks fine and I can log in as usual. So if it was not for the BackUpWordPress plugin, I would be up the creek without a paddle. I recommend daily backups with this lifesaving plugin.
