Is there any plan to upgrade the gateway to use Setup Intents API for Saved Cards instead of the older Sources API? The Sources API doesn’t trigger Stripe RADAR so there is no way to catch bad cards put on file until its too late and they are charged. We don’t know charge amounts in advance and don’t charge cards until service is complete so this is a major issue for us.

    Hi @jlavinsky ,

Starting from version 4.2.0 of the plugin, Stripe Radar is supported by the plugin and there’s no setup required. However, there’s a specific feature within Stripe Radar, called chargeback protection service, and that requires an integration with Stripe’s new “Checkout” to utilize it.

The WooCommerce Stripe plugin does not currently integrate with the new “Checkout”, and there’s no real ETA at the moment in terms of when we will integrate. From my understanding, however, Stripe plans to expand Chargeback Protection Service beyond the new checkout in the future.

We are using v4.5 of the gateway. The issue isn’t around the payment. Our concern is around when the use saves their credit card and your gateway Saves the card number with Stripe. The Sources API you are using doesn’t trigger Stripe RADAR at all. Stripe has verified this.

    Hi @jlavinsky

We do have a public repository to implement the new Payments API so that it has more flexibility with Subscriptions.

Feel free to post the idea on the Ideas Board:

The more votes an idea gets, the higher the probability for it to be added in the future.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
