Saving settings does not work

    I just installed UM and find that whenever I try to save the settings (https://DOMAIN.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=um_options) by clicking the blue “Save Changes” button in the lower-right corner, the page goes a bit darker, all input is disabled and … that’s it. It never goes back to normal. When I reload the page the old settings are back.

    I have several other plugins on this site and disabled them all individually, but that did not fix this issue.

    I also have mod_pagespeed running as an Apache module, but that should be entirely transparent.

    I can save changes to other pages, e.g. forms or user roles.

    Try it on WP 15 theme and no other plugins active please.

    Sorry, this is a live site. I cannot simply switch the theme.

    As I mentioned, I did turn each of the other plugins of, just not together.

    We can’t offer a specific advice, need to test theme/plugins since its a live, please clone the site and tell me if the issue persists.

    I finally found out why this is happening. When I click “Save Changes” the following error is logged to the console of Chrome’s Developer Tools:

    Uncaught ReferenceError: tinyMCE is not defined

    And indeed, the following setting is checked for my user:

    Disable the visual editor when writing

    After I unchecked that (i.e. enabled the visual editor) saving Ultimate Member settings worked immediately.

    While I consider this a workaround it would be nice if the plugin allowed saving if the visual editor is not enabled.

    Wow. Not gonna lie…. THAT’S BEEN BUGGIN’ ME FOR A MONTH!
    and to be quite frank UM, that’s kinda been a key hesitation for me snaggin’ the Bundle!
    Heck I thought it was something more complex!!

    Hi Brad,

    Saving settings issue is not related to UM, is linked to your theme or one of your other plugins causing errors in the php runtime.
