• Hey guys,

so, I’m trying to add a gallery (native feature) to one of my posts, but whenever I create and save or update a gallery it won’t save the images that I added to this gallery. Am I perhaps doing something wrong? Here are the steps that I’m doing:

    1) Click ‘Add Media’ button
    2) Choose ‘Create Gallery’
    3) Select the images to be added from the media library
    4) Click ‘Create Gallery’ button

It will then take me to the gallery popup. The images are added. Once I click save, it places a placeholder for the gallery in the post. But when I now want to edit the gallery, it doesn’t show any images anymore. They also don’t appear in the post preview. It doesn’t help to update the gallery.

    Any ideas?

I’m not a classic bumper, but I’d like to solve this problem today and any hint to solve the problem is welcome. πŸ™‚

    Basic troubleshooting:
Can you replicate the issue with the default (2013) theme and with all plugins disabled?

Tried that now, but it doesn’t help (I would have gone crazy if it had helped).

Are you able to add “regular” images (not gallery) into posts/pages ?

Yes, this works good. It’s just the galleries that are not working.

Can you post a link to your site with ALL plugins deactivated and twentytwelve theme active?

    As you wish:

E: I still wonder what these methods have to do with the admin backend at all, but I guess you know better about WordPress than me. πŸ™‚

Once I click save, it places a placeholder for the gallery in the post.

Before doing anything else, if you publish the post at this step, do you see the gallery pics (check the front-end) ?
Do you see the gallery code in the Text tab?

Yes, it’s there in the text tab:

    [gallery ids="226,289,255"]

But it is not there in the published post.

Is this now considered unrelated to plugins/themes so I can restore my settings again? πŸ™‚
