Scan directory outside WordPress

    Media Sync was suggested to me as plugin that could scan a folder outside the WordPress installation and import files to the media library. Before downloading the plugin, I wanted to check and make sure that it can scan directories outside the uploads folder.

    Well, this plugin intentionally only works with the uploads directory currently used by your WordPress installation. So that imported media continues to work with WordPress after using this plugin. There are ways to customize which folder will WordPress use, and this plugin will then also use that same folder.

    So I’m not sure if that is what you’re looking for, but I hope it helps.
