Since Wordfence made manual scanning a paid feature, where can we see scan results? How can we even know the scan has run. The documentation regarding scans is lengthy, but utterly useless on this point.

    Hi @slapbox

The free version of the plugin allows manual scans at anytime using the START NEW SCAN button on the Scan page:

Scan results are shown under the Results Found or Ignored Results tabs on the Scan page.

When a scan completes you will find in the scan activity log (where X represents a number).

Scan Complete. Scanned X files, X plugins, X themes, X posts, X comments and X URLs in X minute X seconds.

To see the activity log click on the SHOW LOG link.

Hey @wfphil, thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately I’m not seeing that option. Can you possibly provide a screenshot of what we should see? I even searched the page’s source code for “Start new” and “New scan,” but those phrases don’t appear. I’m looking under the “Scan” tab. I know long ago that the option to start a manual scan was clear enough, but it truly does seem to be missing for us.

    Hi @slapbox

    Thank you for the update.

On the Wordfence Scan page you should see a clear START NEW SCAN button with a blue colour.

If you don’t see it then use our guide below to see if you see any JavaScript errors on the Console tab or any response status codes on the Network tab that are not 200 or 304.

Let me know what you see. You can add screenshots to an image sharing service and paste a link here.
