Hi @2share, sorry to see you’re having issues with your scans.

I think the best option if you’ve already tried starting scans remotely and the other troubleshooting info on the link provided would be to send me a scan log and site diagnostic together.

If you could do the following steps for me:

    • Go to the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page
    • In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
    • Click to “Save Changes”.
    • CANCEL any current scan and start a NEW scan
    • Copy the last 20 lines from the Log (click the “Show Log” link) or so of the activity log once the scan finishes and paste them in this post.

Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic > Debugging Screenshot

This will help me see exactly what is happening when the scan fails.

Can you then send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @2share,

I was just wondering if you were still experiencing these issues and whether you’d had a chance to provide the diagnostic information above. I haven’t received any emails marked with your forum username but feel free to send these over in the coming days.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.

Hi @2share, thanks for sending that over. We may still require a site diagnostic on top of the shared Wordfence Activity Log, but from that I was able to identify a possible problem.

The scan stopped after a forking request. We have a help document that you should follow at: https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/troubleshooting/#scan-process-ended-after-forking

Let me know how you get on!

    Peter.

    Hello Peter,

I was trying to deactivate the core content access restriction by rename my .htaccess file. Even then I was not able to start the scan process again

    Restul:
[Jun 22 07:29:45] Scan stop request received.

As I cannot find out, if there is another think which blocks the access. I am really not shure why this happens and how to solve.

    Best regards, Alex

    Hi @2share,

I am sure we could try to get to the bottom if this with a diagnostic report if you’ve not already been able to resolve it. That should show connectivity issues or possible misconfiguration with your environment. We did receive an activity log previously but not a site diagnostic, I’ve just checked our inbox again for good measure.

Can you attempt to send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence .

    Thanks again,

    Peter.

Hi @2share, thanks for sending that over!

It seems that your Cloudflare blocking page is being shown when our servers attempt to connect back into your site. You have correctly set your IP to detect as CF-Connecting-IP for Cloudflare configurations, but I suspect that you may need to whitelist your own site and possibly our IPs within Cloudflare itself.

You should be able to do this by going to your Cloudflare control panel.

    • Login to Cloudflare
    • Go to “Firewall”
    • Click the “Firewall Rules” tab
    • Click “Create a Firewall rule”
    • Name the rule under “Rule Name”
    • Set the “Field” under “When incoming requests match…” to “IP Address”
    • Enter your site’s IP address under “Value”
    • At the bottom, under “Then…Choose an action” change “Block” to “Allow”
    • Click “Deploy

You can discover your site’s IP in Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Connectivity > IP(s) used by this server. Our IPs, should you also need to add those using the process above, are available at: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/#servers-and-ip-range

Once you have added your site (and possibly ours) to the Cloudflare Whitelist, head back over to your site and attempt another scan.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.
