    I have tried to run the malware scanner for the first time and it keeps timing out and then takes the site out of action for a minute. This happens on both of my sites on the same server, any ideas?

    Please, make sure, you are using the latest 2.57.1 version of the Security plugin:
    https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/security-malware-firewall.2.57.1.zip

    Also, perform the followed steps:

    1. Enter the Security by Cleantalk plugin settings. (WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Security by Cleantalk -> General settings tab)

    2. Check the option “Complete deactivation” and save changes.

    3. Deactivate the plugin on the “Plugins” page in WordPress Dashboard.

    4. Re-activate the plugin.

    5. Run the malware scanner.
