After troubleshooting “Time limit that a scan can run in seconds” with different amount of time, we are yet to have have a complete scan.

With over 80k Posts, Comments, & Files what time limit do you suggest we use?

Meanwhile, we’ve tried 24000 and it didn’t complete scan either.

    Hi,

24000 seconds equates to a 6.66 hour scan time limit. If you own the server then increasing the scan time limit to say 43200 seconds (12 hours) might be okay. But we recommend finding out why it is taking so long. It is likely to be server resource limitations or a slow server.

If you are running the site on a shared hosting plan then we wouldn’t recommend increasing the scan time limit over 6 hours so you don’t hit server resource usage limits, if the hosting provider enforces limits.

You can try disabling scan options and run alternate manual scans on other days to cover all scan options.

If the issue is just that your hosting server is slow, you might need to upgrade the hosting plan or switch to a different hosting provider to get decent performance for such a large site.

You can send me your Wordfence diagnostics report so I can have more of a look. Please go to the top of the “Diagnostics” tab on the Wordfence “Tools” page. There will be a “SEND REPORT BY EMAIL” button to send the diagnostics report. Enter phil [at] wordfence [dot] com as the email and @edwards1 as the forum username please.

Once you have emailed me the diagnostics report can you reply here to let me know that it has been sent. This is important in the unlikely event that your installation of WordPress is having an issue with sending mail.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Since I haven’t heard back from you I am assuming that the instructions solved your issue so I am marking this topic as resolved.

If however, for whatever reason, you are still experiencing this issue and it is not resolved please respond to the post, which moves it back up the queue, and mark this topic as “not resolved”.

    Thank you.
