As remarked in another thread; the dates for “schedule” need updating, they are currently set for photos to be scheduled between 2014 and 2020.

That said, -and having just played with these settings again- I find that when I set a scheduled date in the future (eg June 2020) for photos that are already in an album, these are still shown.

This happens when I go to edit an album and set a date for one of its photos to be scheduled in the future. The background for that photo turns red, and its status says “updated” (and date is shown), but the photo still shows. 😐

While working on the years, i discovered that scheduling individual photos does no longer work. It will be fixed asap, and the years will be: from current year until +10, automatically, so this will not happen in the future anymore.

I actually noticed some time ago that the scheduling functionality had issues, and was surprised that this hadn’t been flagged by others. That made me wonder if said functionality is being used much(?), and therefore this may not require a high priority. As you said elsewhere; the best way of keeping a photo from being shown is not to upload it to the internet in the first place!
Still, since the option is there, it’s probably better if it works 🙂

Sure it should work. In the mean time i found how it got broken some time ago by improving other code (side-effect). Unfortunately i can not test everything on each update… That is why i am so glad that people like you report issues like this: if i am aware of it, i will fix it.

btw: schedule delete also does not work at the moment. will be fixed also, of course.

Oh, I assure you it’s a genuine pleasure to assist you in this vein, and thus contribute to this wonderful plugin. In my search for the best WP “photo display” plugin, I have kissed many a frog, but only WPPA+ turned out to be a prince :-))

    Do the following:

    – download https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/wp-photo-album-plus.7.3.07.001.zip
    – Use this file to install as described here: https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/development-version/

    Should work correctly now.

Brilliant! It does work, yes. Many thanks.

However, I do feel the need to add that the scheduling only works when viewing the site as a “regular” visitor, whereas -when I’m logged in as wp-admin- I can see all photos, even those scheduled for showing in a month/year or two.
I hasten to add that this does not bother me (in fact, it could be called useful in that I can see what the final result will be like once the scheduled date is reached). Nevertheless, I thought it might help to mention this here in case anyone trawls these pages in the future with a similar issue.

    Many thanks indeed!

Yes, that is on purpose. Administrators may always do everything and may see everything, they even can overrule this from the front-end by approving the photo ‘manually’.

Gives them the feeling that they are the boss of the site, what they should be anyway.

    Quite! 🙂
