I’m having an issue (i think) with the scheduled (Bulk) optimizer. Turned on it shows it works. In the tool section it shows 52,148 images optimized in the WP Uploads folder.

However, scheduled turned off and running manual Bulk Optimizer it now wants to optimize all 84,726 (21,734 items) again.

On my server this would take 7 days.

How can I make sure Scheduled optimizer is running and optimizing?

Scheduled optimizer doesn’t optimize the uploads folder of your images. As the tooltip states it: ” will enable scheduled optimization of unoptimized images for your theme, buddypress, and any additional folders you have configured below.

This means that unless you specified that you would like for it to optimize your uploads folder in the section labeled “Folders to Optimize”, it won’t have done them.

That would be why, when you kick-off the bulk optimizer, it is saying you have images to optimize.

You can find the documentation on the Advanced settings tab here: https://docs.ewww.io/article/11-advanced-configuration

I’m going to resolve this thread however if you have any other questions, please feel free to open a new one.

What should i do to make uploads folder fully optimizable via wp_cron?
