Hello John,
It’s normal behavior of default header slider.
It cuts certain parts of image to fill whole screen on different aspect ratios.
However, you can check this topic.
Kind Regards, Roman.
Hi Roman,
Thanks for getting back to me so quick. Is there no way for the Theme or WordPress to identify the screen resolution and size accordingly?
Regards,
John
John, default Sydney header slider is designed to fill whole screen.
But in this case you can’t show properly proportioned image if the screen has different aspect ratio.
I hope that it clarifies the issue.
Kind Regards, Roman.
Once again thanks for the response Roman. I’m still confused.
If I access the website on my PC with my web browser open on full screen, the image is cropped at the bottom. If I reduce the size of my browser window then the images are displayed correctly. You’re response suggests the Theme is optimized for 1024×768 rather than scaling to show the whole page?
When you say whole screen, what screen size?
Feels a bit odd that we cant accommodate differing screen resolution sizes :-(.
thanks agian
Currently slider is configured like this:
http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/playit.asp?filename=playcss_background-size&preval=cover
Please select different options to understand the difference.
Kind Regards, Roman.
Bingo!
Got it, thanks so much Roman.
I’m a happy man
Best Regards,
John
hi,
i have the same problem (“If I access the website on my PC with my web browser open on full screen, the image is cropped at the bottom. If I reduce the size of my browser window then the images are displayed correctly”) and i did’t understand do you have the solution of this problem or ?
i also want to be a happy woman 🙂
thank you 🙂
Ana
Hello Ana,
In fact this “problem” is the solution to fit whole screen.
Different screens have different sizes, so image can be displayed partially.
Kind Regards, Roman.
Hi Roman,
I know you have answered this topic all over the forum, but i am still having problems trying to get the aspect ratio right on my mobile view…i have added the code with the simple css plugin — but nothing has changed?
hightides.info
i tired this:
#slideshow .slides-container .slide-item{
background-position: top center;
background-size: 100% 100%;
}
as well as this:
code:
@media only screen and (max-width: 900px){
#slideshow{
height: 400px !important;
}
}
@media only screen and (max-width: 600px){
#slideshow{
height: 210px !important;
}
.text-slider-section{
top: 40%;
}
}
@media only screen and (max-width: 420px) {
.text-slider .maintitle {
font-size: 50%;
}
}
#slideshow .slides-container .slide-item{
background-position: top center;
background-size: 100% 100%;
}
[Moderator note: code fixed. Please wrap code in the backtick character or use the code button.]
but still no response…what am i doing wrong?! I have combed through your responses, but i seem to be missing something! thank you
