Hi @peterdawson28,
Thank you for reaching out!
It seems there might be a conflict between NextGEN Gallery and another plugin or your theme, causing NextGEN Gallery Simple Lightbox not to open images correctly.
To test for conflicts, please create a backup of your site first. If you need options, here are some recommendations: WPBeginner-recommended backup plugins.
Next, deactivate all plugins except for NextGEN Gallery to see if the issue changes. If there’s an improvement, reactivate the other plugins one at a time, watching for any changes to identify the conflicting plugin.
If the problem persists, test for a theme conflict by switching to a default WordPress theme, such as TwentySeventeen, to see if it resolves the issue. If you find a conflict, contacting the support team for the plugin or theme for a solution is advised.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks! 🙂
Thank you for your advice which I have followed by the process of elimination that you described. I have found that the plugin “All in One SEO”, that I use, seems to be in conflict with NEXTGEN GALLERY. When they are both active NEXTGEN does not scroll but when I deactivate “All in One SEO”, NEXTGEN works fine. I am not sure which is at fault because they both issue updates fairly frequently but I have found another gallery plugin called Modula Gallery that works fine even when All in One SEO is activated. Modula Gallery appears to be less complex than NEXTGEN but has the advantage of quickly and efficiently importing NEXTGEN galleries with very little for the user to do to set up their basic galleries that DO scroll. I think I will migrate all my galleries to Modula Gallery if NEXTGEN cannot provide a solution quickly.
