I put a link to the page but I have since removed the scrollonclose command. In any case when you use this function it scroll such the the “text used to expand” is not shown. The “text used to expand” is just above where the scroll is and you cannot see it. The is a very odd experience. What I have is a very long section of text and I want to display the first paragraph and when you expend the rest of the story I’d like a collapse at the top and bottom of the expanded text and when you collapse I’d like the scroll back to where the user was (scroll wise) when they expanded the text.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Without seeing the issue on your site, we can not help much.
When you say the trigger text is

just above where the scroll is and you cannot see it

are you by chance logged in and the trigger has scrolled up under the admin bar at the top?

Please provide at least one example of your issue and we will try and help troubleshoot further.

You can see the issue here http://mccraewilliams.com/expand-test-page/

Use the first expand link and the bottom collapse.

    Hello C.
The issue is that your theme is using a ‘sticky menu’ so the amount of the scroll needs to be offset by the height of your menu. Sadly this is not an option with the free Collapse-O-Matic, but the offset attribute is an included feature in Collapse-Pro-Matic.

If you are comfortable with PHP, the plugin could be hardcoded to add the offset, but this would need to be re-added every time the plugin is updated.

Looks like I should upgrade then. What I’d really like the collapse scroll to do is to scroll such that the title (in the test page example) “Miss Libby – Nobles English Teacher reading “The Blue Ribbon”, a 3 scene story by McCrae” would show on collapse. Is this possible with the offset? Does the pro version have a scroll to tag like ability (if I have the terminology right)?

I tried doing this with the pixel scroll feature but could not understand if this was going to a pixel relative to the page or the expand and was also not confident what would happen on other devices (my thinking was the pixel count would change on phone versus laptop).

    Hello Chris,

This would not be a problem, we would be happy to add this ‘scroll to tag’ in the pro version that would do exactly that. The pro version comes with a very high level of personal support.

    Thanks.

I was looking at the pricing for pro. If you I do the 1 year I would need to renew each year, correct? If I don’t I assume my functionality falls back to non pro? But if I do the $154 there is no renewal period?

At the end of the year, you can renew at a discount. This is only for support and upgrades. If you don’t renew, the plugin will continue to function as before, you will just not be able to download new updates. For your purposes, you don’t really need to go with the unlimited licence.

We will go ahead and mark this topic as resolved, as this issue has moved beyond the support allowed here on the WordPress Forums. If you have any more pre-sales questions, please contact us direct at info [at] twinpictures [dot] de with a link to this thread.
